Modern advances in technology have made a huge impact on both culture and industry in the modern world, and the fashion industry is no exception. Nowadays it makes great sense to choose made to measure when buying a new suit. Only twenty years ago tailoring meant lots of fittings and lots of money, but nowadays the process of making a made to measure suit is both easy and very agreeable on the wallet! Black Tie’s founder and owner, Chris Healy, started his menswear career in tailoring in the Sixties and thanks to his many years working both in military tailoring and on the famous Savile Row, he has an unrivalled expertise on the subject. Our clients can now take full advantage of this expertise with our comprehensive made-to-measure service for wedding suits, dinner suits, lounge suits and business suits.

The process is simple - once we have had a chat about your thoughts on what you are looking for in a suit, you can pick a cloth from our huge range of beautiful high quality fabrics and then give you a full comprehensive fitting. During this fitting you can decide the basic shape of the garment, length, fit etc and then go into finer details about finish options. When you are totally satisfied a deposit can be left (generally 50%) and when the outfit is finished (typically 4-6 weeks later) we book a second fitting to ensure a perfect fit. Any minor adjustments to the suit are then performed if needed before the balance is paid and you can leave safe in the knowledge that your new totally one-off outfit will give you many happy years of beautifully fitted service!

None of our made-to-measure garments come out of asia as is the case for many companies offering personal tailoring, and are built to the most exceptional standards by skilled professionals based on meticulous measurements taken by our own experienced staff. Prices for Personally Tailored suits start at an incredible £425 with the average cost of a 3-piece suit (jacket, trousers and waistcoat) in a majority of our fabrics currently at just £495 including many of our most popular finish options such as horn buttons, outside ticket pocket and lapels on the waistcoat!
