Being so close to Ascot makes us an ideal choice if you are looking for morning wear hire for this great annual event. We stock a huge range of morning wear and accessories, plus the option of having waistcoats and neckwear made to your own specification. We also offer morning wear to buy in many light weight fabrics as well as offering a comprehensive made to measure service (check out the awesome blue pinstripe morning suit we had made on our personal tailoring page here! ). Top Hats

We have a large stock of top hats to hire in black, grey and navy blue. These can be hired separately for Ascot if you already own a morning suit. We can also supply top hats to purchase. Our top hat range starts with wool felts in black, navy and grey for just £79, but if you’re looking for something a bit special, we can also offer fur felt in grey for £135 and polished black for £245. We also offer a Victorian tall topper in polished black fur felt for only £295, the closest thing you can get to the real thing when buying brand new! Bear in mind we do get a lot of orders for these hats around Royal Ascot time, so please allow six weeks or so for ordering.

Antique Top Hats

We currently stock a number of very special antique top hats for purchase, some with their original leather hat boxes. These pieces are genuine hatter’s plush and are extremely rare as they have not been in production now for nigh-on a century. The main difference between a modern polished fur hat and a genuine Victorian hat aside from the fur itself is the weight, a genuine top hat is extraordinarily light weight and stiff.

Many antique top hats are very small in size due to the fact that as times changed, people got bigger. The average size of a gentleman’s head circa 1900 was 6 7/8 compared to today’s 7 1/4. As such we try to source hats in only sizes 7 and up, although if you have any special requirements we can generally accommodate.
